The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Division of Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success has named Sammi Kaiser, Ph.D., as assistant vice chancellor of student success. The move, which reflects UNO’s investment in student performance, takes effect immediately.
Kaiser, who most recently served as senior director of academic advising, overseeing UNO’s Academic and Career Development Center, has served in leadership roles in support of UNO’s advising efforts since joining UNO in 2014.
“With the establishment of Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success (IESS), Dr. Kaiser’s role has grown to oversee multiple units outside of the Academic and Career Development Center while at the same time growing the scope of ACDC’s operations in support of our student body,” Vice Chancellor for IESS Rich Klein, Ph.D., said. “She has proved an indispensable partner as our division has gotten established and grown, ensuring the success of our students and UNO as a whole.”
In her new role, Kaiser will continue to oversee operation within ACDC but will also oversee the UNO Testing Center and New Student and Family Programs, which is responsible for all campus visit and new student orientation programming.
Kaiser is also helping provide leadership overseeing initiatives such as continued expansion of UNO’s articulation agreements with Metropolitan Community College, the recently-launched Career Connect initiative, and the Student Service and Leadership Collaborative office.
“It is such an exciting time to be a part of the Maverick family,” Kaiser said. “In this new role, I look forward to continue partnering and collaborating across campus to ensure the best career, academic advising, and onboarding experiences for all UNO students.”
Kaiser holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to joining UNO she oversaw academic support operations for Iowa Western Community College.
