The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Tuesday, Feb. 1, in memory of UNO retiree Charles (Charlie) Reimers.
Charlie passed away on Jan. 13, 2022, at the age of 77. He worked in Public Safety at UNO from May 1972, until his retirement in April 2015.
"Charlie was well known for his walrus mustache and his offbeat sense of humor," says colleague Bob Hoffman from UNO Public Safety. "Generations of students remember him as the iconic campus security guard. Those of us who knew him well remember him as a dedicated Officer and a good friend."
The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Charle’s loved ones during this time.
