Flag Lowering for Jean Youngberg
The UNO flag will be lowered on Thursday, Dec. 16, in memory of Youngberg, a UNO retiree, who passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at the age of 92.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Thursday, Dec. 16, in memory of UNO retiree Jean Youngberg.
Jean passed away on Dec. 8, 2021, at the age of 92. Jean worked as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Development Services for nearly 25 years, from 1971 until 1996.
Jean is survived by her husband, DeLaine, of 70 years; one son, Brian (Michele) of O’Fallon, MO; one daughter, Janet Solverson (Paul) of Falmouth, MA; six grandchildren, Montana Chambers (Ryan) of Pembroke, MA, Chance Aubrey (Laura) of Indianapolis, IN, Brianna Brown (Paul) of Wildwood, MO, Emily Monesmith (Jason) of Wentzville, MO, Natalie Jaeger (Landan) of St. Paul, MO, and Erika Youngberg of O’Fallon, MO; three great grandchildren, River Chambers, Everleigh Monesmith, and Jovie Monesmith. Preceding Jean in death was her mother and father, Pauline and Glenn Bellis; one son, Kurt.
A service was held for Jean on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021.
