Mary Razor, compensation, payroll, and records manager for UNO Human Resources has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for May 2021.
Razor was surprised by the virtual Celebration Committee on Monday, May 3.
In her nomination, Razor was recognized for her support of staff across the UNO campus - often going above on beyond and working over holidays and weekends to ensure that employee pay is processed on time.
Her nominator says: "Mary makes plans around the demanding payroll deadlines and completes the job regardless of rain, snow, sleet, and hail. Her delivery is more reliable than the U.S. Postal Service."
Razor was also praised for being a resource for staff who have questions about the payroll process and will often proactively reach out to individuals to ensure everyone has what they need to be successful and focused on their responsibilities, rather than worries about not paying people on time.
"Mary does whatever it takes to get employees properly paid on time," her nominator states. "This past year was particularly challenging because she navigated both remote and on=campus work while following COVID guidelines.
"With 26 years of University tenure, Mary Razor is always available to answer employee questions and solve problems."
For being nominated as Employee of the Month, Razor will receive a certificate, hot/cold tumbler, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event and use of a designated parking space.
To nominate an employee, complete the nomination form and send it to Kristina Hoffmann at kristinahoffmann@unomaha.edu.
