UNO Bookstore Textbook FAQ
Textbooks are located on the lower level of the UNO Bookstore which is located on the first floor of the Milo Bail Student Center. You can also order & pay for your textbooks online and utilize our free In-store Pickup option to save time.
Textbooks are available to purchase new or used. We also have over 1000 titles (new & used) available to rent for the semester at a fraction of the purchase price. Just return the rented textbook by the due date to avoid any late fees. Please bring your MavCARD if you are renting any textbooks.
Some textbooks can also be purchased in e-book format.
Go to unobookstore.com and print out your book list to bring into the store. This will be all the information needed to easily find your books. Please bring your MavCARD.
If you have any issues, the friendly textbook staff will be available to assist you.
Please note: Textbooks are now organized alphabetically by author instead of by department.
Yes! Shop online 24/7 at unobookstore.com. We will ship the textbooks to you for a shipping fee or you can utilize our free In-store Pickup option. You will receive an email when your books are ready for pick up in the UNO Bookstore. We have special In-store Pickup lines, saving you time! *Please allow 3-5 business days for processing during the higher order volume months of August & January.
There are several reasons we may run out of a book. Enrollment may be larger than estimated, books may not be available from the publisher, or textbook selection information has not been received from the instructor. Please check with the Textbook Information Counter for more information on the status of your books.
We accept cash, checks, credit and the MavCARD (MavMONEY). You can also charge your UNO Bookstore purchases to your UNO Student Account and the charges will appear on your bill from the university. You can charge up to $1500 per semester. Any UNO Bookstore purchase can be charged to your UNO Student Account, including textbooks, supplies & apparel.
If a book is marked “Required,” the instructor has indicated that you must have the book for the class. If the books is marked “Optional,” that means that the books is recommended. You do not have to purchase the book, but it may be helpful in your class.
Yes, within the set time limit. The last day for a full refund on your textbooks is the Friday of the second week of classes for the Fall & Spring semesters and the Friday of the first week of summer sessions. You must have your receipt & a current picture ID. After these dates, all sales are final. If you paid with a credit card, please bring the card used to make the purchase. If you paid with a check, we require a ten day waiting period before a cash refund is issued.
New textbooks: Must be in new condition with all CDs, tapes, code cards & supplemental materials included.
Helpful hints: Do not remove shrink-wrap, write or mark in books, or remove any pages until you have attended class and are certain that you have the correct book or will not be changing classes.
Yes! At the end of each semester & summer session we offer Textbook Buyback where you can receive up to 50% of the new list price. Click here for more information about Textbook Buyback.
