The Len and Ann Freeman Scholarship Fund was established by Ellen Freeman Wakefield in memory of her parents, Len and Ann Freeman. Len Freeman was a City of London Police Officer for over thirty years while Ann was an early childhood educator. During the late 1970s, PC B249 and his wife were introduced to the University of Nebraska Omaha London Study Abroad Trip and, over the years they forged relationship with staff, faculty and students which still continue today.

The purpose of the Len and Ann Scholarship was to establish a scholarship program for the benefit of students who needed financial aid to assist them in having the opportunity to travel abroad and expand their educational knowledge of the English Criminal Justice System.

A preference is given to those students who may not have the means to participate to experience the criminal justice system, country, or culture and people of Britain.
