
Todd R. Schmaderer, Chief of Police, City of Omaha - 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award
Todd R. Schmaderer was appointed the 32nd Chief of Police for the City of Omaha on August 15, 2012. Chief Schmaderer leads the largest law enforcement agency in the State of Nebraska, which is comprised of 906 sworn officers and 200 non-sworn professional staff. He manages an operating budget of $177 million, and serves a population of 490,000 residents in the city limits.
Todd Schmaderer is a dedicated police professional who has excelled at all ranks, through Chief of Police, in the Omaha Police Department. Todd is a 28-year veteran of the Omaha Police Department, and previously held the positions of Deputy Chief, Captain, Training Academy Commander, and Uniform Patrol Supervisor as a Lieutenant and Sergeant.
Chief Schmaderer received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from UNO and a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati. He is also a 2015 graduate of the FBI National Executive Institute (NEI).
Chief Schmaderer serves on the boards of many organizations, to include the Nebraska Crime Commission, the Omaha Police Foundation, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Midlands.
Chief Schmaderer is a member of the Omaha-Metropolitan Chiefs Association, the Police Officers Association of Nebraska, the Major Cities Chiefs Association, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Michele M. Stevenson, Special Agent, FBI - 2024 Distinguished Service Award
Special Agent (SA) Michele M. Stevenson received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University in 1992. She joined the FBI in 1995 in Dallas, Texas, and was a member of the Special Surveillance Group before becoming an SA in 1999.
SA Stevenson worked white collar crime matters in Omaha for six years, investigating financial institution fraud, bankruptcy fraud, and identity theft matters. She then spent 18 months as a Supervisor in Washington, D.C., working terrorism finance matters.
Upon her return to Omaha, she worked both public corruption and terrorism investigations before being assigned to her current position of Applicant Coordinator and Training Coordinator for the Omaha Field Office.

Nebraska Office of Probation Administration (Deborah Minardi, State Probation Administrator; Gene Cotter, Deputy Administrator) - 2024 Outstanding Community Service Award
In 2020, the Nebraska State Probation office, in conjunction with the University of Nebraska Omaha School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) program, embarked on a collaborative endeavor to introduce a paid internship opportunity for students. This initiative marked one of the pioneering efforts within the state to provide compensated internship experiences tailored to individuals aspiring to explore the intricacies of the criminal justice system, particularly in the realm of probation.
The Select Internship collaboration stands as an ongoing endeavor, and we are honored to play a role in shaping future criminal justice professionals.

Andrea Hurt, Sergeant, Sarpy County Sheriff's Office - 2024 Rising Star Alumni Award
Andrea Hurt, a native of Ashton, Nebraska, graduated from Loup City High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2007. Beginning her career with the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office in 2009, she has excelled in various divisions and currently serves in the Professional Standards Division.
A dedicated public servant, Andrea is a Field Training Officer and Active Shooter Instructor, contributing to auxiliary units like the Crisis Negotiation Team, Honor Guard, and Project Lifesaver. Recognized as Deputy of the Year in 2020 and honored with the Sarpy County Crime Stoppers Award in 2021, she earned a promotion to Sergeant that same year.
With almost 25 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, Andrea holds the rank of First Sergeant. Her five deployments, including two to Iraq and one to Afghanistan, showcase her commitment. Her military accolades include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal.
