Biography
John Ursino, Ph.D., is a Research Specialist for the Advancing Research in Corrections (ARC) Lab in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a focus on correctional policy and quantitative methods.
His research interests include the dynamics and forecasting of correctional populations, the effects of decarceration and detention policy on jail and prison systems, and the development, validation, and calibration of risk-need assessment instruments for community supervision.
Dr. Ursino has published articles in peer-reviewed journal outlets such as Justice Quarterly and the Journal of Criminal Justice. He has collaborated on applied research projects funded by Arnold Ventures and the National Drug Court Institute, and with state correctional agencies across the country.
