Biography
Colton is a first-year doctoral student in the UNO School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. He holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Michigan State University along with a master's degree from UNO. Colton works in the Violence Intervention and Policing Research (VIPR) Lab measuring police efficacy, as well as with Dr. Jessica Deitzer analyzing behavioral elements of adolescent violent crime. His research interests pertain to gun violence prevention, mass and school shootings, adolescent decision-making, and policing. Colton plans to pursue a career in academia where he hopes to teach and work alongside school districts in preventing school violence.
