Mr. Gollmitzer has more than 40 years of law enforcement and corrections experience. He served as an Honorably Discharged Marine Corps Investigator for 10 years. After the Marines, he served 21 years with Shreveport Police/Caddo Parish, Louisiana, serving as a city police officer and later as a deputy sheriff. During his time in Shreveport, he earned the Medal of Valor and was honored twice as officer of the year. His roles ranged from patrol and accident investigation to accident reconstruction, serving as a community liaison officer, and instructing at the academy. Mr. Gollmitzer transitioned to the corrections department at Caddo Parish in 2002, overseeing multiple sections of the Caddo Correctional Center until retiring in 2014. Mr. Gollmitzer then changed careers, moving into the classroom, teaching Criminal Justice at Vincennes University. At Vincennes, he became the Law Enforcement Program Chair in 2015. In 2019, he achieved tenure and advanced to the position of Associate Professor. He retired in 2022 and resides in Kilgore, TX.
