- Automated Course Evaluations
UNO will soon begin using a new process for collecting and managing course evaluations. Automated Course Evaluations (ACE) allow UNO to improve the course evaluation process by making it more convenient for you and delivering quicker results to faculty and administrators. Help make your UNO experience the best it can be by completing your course evaluations.
It's Easier Than Ever
The ACE online system is mobile friendly and allows you to begin, save, and return to complete evaluations. This provides the opportunity to reflect on course experiences and provide meaningful feedback. This feedback is vital to the success of UNO. The results are used by faculty to make changes to the content and delivery of their course.
It's Confidential
ACE provides complete anonymity. No faculty, staff member, or administrator is able to identify which students completed evaluations or connect specific content to a particular student. After final grades have been submitted, faculty members receive reports that summarize results and list comments but do not contain any information that would identify any student.
It's Environmentally Responsible
ACE is an environmentally responsible alternative. This new system will reduce the cost and labor required to complete and process paper evaluation results. The dollar savings equal approximately $100,000 annually and the commitment to environmental sustainability supports our University’s strategic mission.
What Colleges are Participating?
Four of UNO’s six colleges will convert to ACE for the fall 2014 term– College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media (CFAM); College of Education (COE); College of Information Science & Technology (IS&T); and College of Public Affairs and Community Service (CPACS). The remaining colleges will complete the transition in the spring 2015 term. You will continue to use the Scantron course evaluation system for any course not yet in ACE.
When are Automated Course Evaluations Available?
The evaluation process begins November 29 and lasts through December 14 (11:59pm CST). You will receive an email containing links to the course evaluation or to Blackboard’s login page. Within Blackboard, you will find a listing of the evaluations they need to complete. You will receive reminder emails throughout the process, and they will stop once you have completed your evaluations.
ACE is managed and implemented through the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE). Visit the FAQ page at acestudent.unomaha.edu. If you have additional questions contact OIE at unoevalhelp@unomaha.edu or 402.554.2379 during business hours.
