Complaints Against Student Organizations
Anyone can make a complaint with the Office of Student & Community Standards regarding the behavior of a student organization. If a complaint is made against your student organization that constitutes an alleged violation of the Student Code of Conduct, one or more of the organization's officers will receive a notification of the charge(s) at their local or campus mailing address and through their university email. What to do When You've Been Accused
Your notification of charge(s) letter will provide instructions regarding next steps. Typically, you will be asked to contact the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards to schedule a meeting to discuss the alleged behavior.
If you fail to make an appointment within the time allowed, you may be charged with an additional violation of the Student Code of Conduct for abuse of the university judicial system.
If the student organization does not accept the recommended sanction(s), you may appeal the Judicial Officer’s recommended sanctions to a Judicial Board by submitting a letter, with reasons for the appeal, to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs within seven working days of the date of the sanction(s) letter from the Judicial Officer.
Individuals may also be charged when a student organization is charged with a violation, regardless of whether or not the individuals also hold membership in the organization.
