Why are you running for Student Government?
I am a student with a sustainability minor. I see a lot of the issues with sustainability on campus and I would like to help solve them. Also, as a part of the student body, I would love to be a representative of my college.
This is my senior year, this university has given me so much help throughout the four years I have spent here, and to get a chance of giving back is all I have wanted. It would be an honor for me to represent the students of the College of Arts and Sciences and to help them gain the same amazing college experience that I had.
Which issue do think should be changed or improved on campus?
As the planet is warming up, I see the low level of sustainability on campus is an issue. I think we could do much more to be part of the solution to the global climate change on campus. For now, the campus is mainly focused on reducing energy consumption in the buildings and recycling. That is a good start, however, there are other issues to be addressed. For example, the university waste a lot of food and that is still contributing to the global climate change.
What makes you qualified to sit on Student Government?
I think I qualify because I am a senior, I believe that I have an advantage because I have been a student in this university for a long time. I am also a student worker, many students could relate to a representative that truly goes through what they experience on daily basis.
