The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is introducing Invest in the Best, a new monthly programming initiative designed to support and celebrate UNO faculty and staff. The initiative originated from the Staff Taskforce.
➡️ What’s new
Invest in the Best is a monthly signature programming initiative led by the Office of Spirit, Tradition, and Signature Events in partnership with the Chancellor’s Office, Human Resources, Faculty Senate, Staff Advisory Council, and Wellness Committee.
Through events and experiences held throughout the year, the series will offer faculty and staff opportunities to connect with colleagues, support their wellbeing, and pursue personal and professional growth.
💡 Why it matters
Faculty and staff play an essential role in UNO’s teaching, research, student support, and community engagement.
Invest in the Best creates dedicated opportunities for employees from across the university to connect outside of their day-to-day work and participate in programming centered on the faculty and staff experience.
🎤 What they’re saying
Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA, UNO Chancellor:
"Our faculty and staff are at the heart of UNO. When we invest in our people, we strengthen our entire university community."
Bill Pickett, Director of Spirit, Tradition, and Signature Events:
"The best investment UNO can make is in the people who make a difference every day."
⚡ What’s next
Invest in the Best programming will continue monthly throughout the academic year, with new events and experiences added to the series.
Faculty and staff can view upcoming Invest in the Best events and find opportunities to participate.
