A number of important changes have been made to Canvas for all students. These changes were made to create a more convenient and intuitive experience, particularly for those who regularly take classes on more than one University of Nebraska System campus.

As a result of these changes, all courses in which a student is enrolled on any of the University of Nebraska System campuses now all appear together in the same place with a single inbox, calendar and set of notifications/reminders to manage.

Read on for information just for students. Visit the faculty article for faculty updates.

Do These Things to Prepare for the Fall Semester

To ensure you have smooth access to Canvas for your fall courses, you must:

  1. Bookmark canvas.nebraska.edu for all logins to Canvas

  2. Ensure that your Canvas mobile app is pointing to the correct instance of Canvas. To do this, open the Canvas student app, click the menu (three bars in top left corner), then click “change user” or “logout.” Next, you will search for “University of Nebraska,” and login using your TrueYou credentials.

  3. Be sure to update your notifications in the new instance of Canvas to choose how and when you want to receive updates about activities in your Canvas courses. To do so, log into the new instance of Canvas, click the Account icon (circle) and choose “Notifications.” From there, set your notification preferences, click save, and you’re all set!
