University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Chancellor Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA, shared the following message to faculty and staff.
Colleagues,
Following President Gold’s recent strategic planning update, I want to recognize the outstanding progress we’ve made at UNO in support of Odyssey to Extraordinary. Across our campus, your work continues to align with and advance this shared vision.
I also want to thank you for your involvement in our recent Catalyst Conversation and Strategy Forum events. These events highlighted the ways your work on university-wide initiatives — including competency-based education, financial strategy, artificial intelligence innovation, and student recruitment and retention — connect to both the Odyssey and UNO’s strategic planning pillars.
My office will continue to provide unit leaders with guidance and updates regarding the strategic planning process. Unless you have been directly involved in the review, development, or submission of Operational Strategic Initiatives (OSIs), no additional action is required.
As we approach May Commencement and the summer months, I hope you take a moment to reflect with pride on the impact of your work. Every person you support, every partnership you build, and every innovation you advance contributes to the lifelong success of our students and strengthens UNO’s role as the state’s workforce development engine.
Thank you for the difference you make.
Sincerely,
Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA
Chancellor
