A new era of leadership is taking charge at the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) student body government.

➡️ What’s new: Aditi Rai, who served as the student government’s Student Body Vice President last year, has been elected and sworn in as the 2026-2027 Student Body President and Student Regent. Lilly Broady and Moses Rhodes will serve at the Vice President and Chief of Staff, respectively.

💡Why it matters: The Student Body President serves as the UNO Student Regent, representing more than 15,000 students to the University of Nebraska System’s Board of Regents. The student government advocates for, represents, and empowers students.

🔎 About the new team:

  • President/Regent Aditi Rai: Rai is a third-year honors student studying computer science on the pre-med track. Following graduation, she hopes to attend medical school to become a physician.
  • Vice President Lilly Broady: Broady, who previously served as the administration’s Director of Recruitment, is a second-year student studying geography, sustainability, and environmental science. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school for atmospheric science.
  • Chief of Staff Moses Rhodes: Rhodes, who previously served as the administration's Director of Integrity, is a first-year student studying criminal justice, psychology, and philosophy. After graduation, Rhodes plans to attend graduate school for a master’s in criminal justice and a Ph.D. in psychology.

⚡️ What’s next:

  • Building the team: Elected leaders will begin appointing students to fill the remaining roles within the student government including the coordinator of student engagement, and the directors of finance, administration, recruitment, and leadership development.
  • Meetings: Student government meets every Thursday at 7 P.M. and alternate each week between Circuit meetings and Senate Business meetings.
  • The term: The elected student officials will serve in office throughout the upcoming academic school year, until the spring of 2027.
