As spring arrives on campus, the use of scooters, one-wheels, skateboards, bicycles, and more will increase.
Don't forget the new Personal Transportation Devices (PTD) policy that took effect in December.
Here are some highlights:
- No motorized devices may be used, stored, charged, or otherwise kept inside any university buildings (including housing)
- PTDs of any kind may NOT be used inside any university buildings
- Pedestrians determine the rate of traffic flow
- Riders shall not come within three feet of pedestrians while riding (and shall dismount if unable to keep that distance)
- All wheels down – no tricks, reckless, nor distracted use
- PTDs operated on university streets must follow all traffic laws, posted signs, and signals
- PTDs must be parked at designated bicycle racks. Public Safety strongly recommends use of U-locks to prevent theft
