NU System Adopts New Digital Accessibility Policy
University of Nebraska (NU) System Executive Memorandum 47 outlines clear expectations for accessible web content, apps, and technology used across all campuses, including UNO, by April 24.

The University of Nebraska (NU) System has adopted a new systemwide policy that affects every department, unit, and employee at UNO: All digital content and tools must meet accessibility standards no later than April 24, 2026.
➡️ What’s new: Executive Memorandum No. 47: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Accessibility Policy was issued Jan. 14, 2026, by NU System President Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. It mandates that all web content, mobile apps, and ICT procured, created, or used by the university meet current accessibility standards.
💡 Why it matters: This policy governs the accessibility of ICT and supports compliance with Title II digital accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, ensuring equitable access for students, employees, and members of the public.
