Adobe Access Updates: What to Expect This Spring

Beginning Feb. 16, 2026, Adobe access will move to a new model that reflects usage patterns across the university and is designed to better align tools with how they’re most commonly used.

Adobe tools play an important role across our campuses, supporting teaching, research, communications, design, and creative work of all kinds. In response to changes in Adobe’s licensing and pricing structure, University of Nebraska Information Technology Services (NU ITS) is updating how Adobe products are licensed systemwide. The updated licensing model will ensure continued access while responsibly managing university resources.

The good news: nothing changes right away. Through February 15, 2026, all UNO faculty and staff will continue to have full access to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. Beginning February 16, 2026, Adobe access will move to a new model that reflects usage patterns across the university and is designed to better align tools with how they’re most commonly used.

Under the updated Adobe licensing model, faculty and staff will continue to automatically receive access to Adobe Acrobat Pro and may request access to Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Express as needed. Individuals impacted by this change have already received direct email notifications with additional details about the new model and how to request access.

NU ITS is also updating how users sign in to Adobe. Users will continue to log in at adobe.com. If prompted, users should select “Company or School account,” enter their campus email address, and sign in using their TrueYou credentials to complete the process.

To request access to Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Express, submit a request at
its.nebraska.edu/adobe.

NU ITS recommends submitting requests before February 16 to avoid any interruption in access. Requests can also be made at any time in the future if your needs change.

Requests do not require supervisor or IT approval. Access to Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Express will be automatically provisioned based on your university role, and users will receive an email confirmation from Adobe, typically within 1–2 hours.

By aligning Adobe licenses with how tools are used across the university, NU ITS is working to preserve broad access to essential creative resources while exercising responsible stewardship of university funds. Faculty and staff are encouraged to request access as their needs arise, and NU ITS will continue to support campuses through this transition.
