Anita Lee poses with her Employee of the Month certificate.

Anita Lee

Anita Lee, Early College and Community Coordinator in the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) College of Information Science & Technology (IS&T), has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for January 2026. She was praised for her leadership, adaptability, and commitment to creating meaningful experiences for students.

A nominator said that "Anita has this incredible ability to ensure projects are completed while encouraging the people around her. She's constantly finding creative ways to engage students during the early college prospective students visits, learning new activities herself so she can teach them effectively. If she's working with youth and community partners and things don't go as planned, she doesn't miss a beat. She pivots gracefully and always has something ready to ensure students still have a meaningful experience."

They continued, "she's dedicated to creating excellent experiences for every student who walks through our doors. She does all of this while staying positive, supportive, and genuinely excited about the work we do."

Another nominator also spoke to Lee’s impact.

"Anita truly embodies what it means to go above and beyond, and she incorporates UNO and IS&T values in her daily work. What really stands out about Anita is the care and intention she brings to every project — not just for compliance, but because she genuinely cares about the students and families we serve. She is proactive, thoughtful, and committed to making sure the college is adhering to the ever-changing landscape of higher education."

For being named Employee of the Month, Lee received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by The Maverick Store, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.

Anita Lee celebrates her award with her colleagues.
