UNO Chancellor Li Appointed Federal Reserve Omaha Branch Board Chair

UNO Chancellor Li Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA, is serving her second three-year term on the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Omaha Branch Board of Directors.

➡️ What’s new: University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Chancellor Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA, has been designated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s head office Board of Directors as Omaha Branch board chair for 2026.


💡 Why it matters: The Omaha Branch represents Nebraska in the Federal Reserve’s Tenth District, which includes Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, and parts of Missouri and New Mexico.

  • Directors meet throughout the year to confer on economic and financial developments and business conditions.

  • Together, they will represent the state of Nebraska and serve as a voice for their respective areas of the state.

🔎 Zoom in: Originally appointed to a three-year term on the Omaha Branch Board of Directors in 2023, Chancellor Li was reappointed to a three-year term running through 2028 in February 2025. Read the Kansas City Fed’s announcement of election results and appointments.
