At their October meeting, the University of Nebraska (NU) System Board of Regents presented Randy Mattley, Communications Specialist for the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), with a Kudos Award for his leadership, creativity, and commitment to excellence.

Abbie Syrek, assistant dean of the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media, said that “Randy's leadership in communications, marketing, and analytics has not only supported the college — it has elevated it. From strategic planning to hands-on execution, Randy infused the CFAM 20th Anniversary year with vision, cohesion, and Maverick spirit. Quite simply, this year would not have been possible without him.”

She continued, “Randy led the development of a unified college-wide communications strategy encompassing 93 individual events. He also played a leading role in conceptualizing and executing the year’s two flagship events: the CFAM 20th Anniversary Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony, each drawing nearly 400 attendees. Randy handled this work with no additional staff and never compromised on quality.”

Mattley’s commitment to UNO and CFAM is also evident in the way he supports others.

“He is a strategic thinker and tireless implementer who also centers his work on long-term student and alumni success… Randy is an innovator who combines visual artistry with analytical insight," added Syrek. “His contributions reflect not only outstanding service but unwavering Maverick spirit."

In presenting the Board of Regents KUDOS award to Mattley, UNO Student Body President/Regent Drew Leisy thanked Mattley for his dedication to UNO.

Congratulations, Randy!
