Flag Lowering for Robert Gibson

The UNO flag will be lowered on Tuesday, July 15, in memory of retiree Robert "Bob" Gibson.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Tuesday, July 15, in memory of UNO retiree Robert "Bob" Gibson, who recently passed away. The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Bob’s loved ones during this time.

About Bob

Bob began his career at UNO on Sept. 1, 1969, and retired as Director of Counseling on Oct. 1, 2003. He also served as UNO's Athletics Director for five years, and was a longtime coach with the program.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Karolyne, as well as his two sons, Rob and Ryan, and daughter, Amy.

A mass of Christian burial was held on July 7 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
