Abbey Henrichs was joined by family members, Chancellor Li, Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics, and NU System President Jeffrey P. Gold.

At their June meeting, the University of Nebraska (NU) System Board of Regents presented Abbey Henrichs, Director of Events for the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications (MarComm) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), with a Kudos Award for her outstanding leadership, creativity, and commitment to delivering exceptional campus and athletic events.

Madison Kihm, events planner in MarComm, said that "Abbey exemplifies excellence by transforming ideas into unforgettable experiences. Through collaboration with a variety of campus partners, she not only brings their event concepts to life but consistently exceeds expectations, creating impactful and memorable moments that elevate the success of everyone involved."

Henrichs actively contributes to the success of both campus events and Omaha Athletics through dynamic collaboration.

“Balancing her day-to-day responsibilities with the additional demands of athletic events, she exemplifies dedication and teamwork, strengthening connections across the university community," Kihm continued.

Henrichs embodies the Maverick Spirit as a proud UNO alum.

“She carries that strength, resilience, and independent thinking into her daily work. When faced with challenges during events, she channels her creativity and determination to adapt and ensure each event reflects the vision and needs of her clients, showcasing the true essence of what it means to be a Maverick," said Kihm.

In presenting the Board of Regents KUDOS award to Henrichs, UNO Student Body President/Regent Drew Leisy thanked Henrichs for her dedication to UNO.

Congratulations, Abbey!
