The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is stepping up its social media game by teaming up with student ambassadors to spread the word about campus life. This initiative is part of UNO’s effort to enhance brand awareness and connect with both current and prospective students.

Meet the ambassadors who are making it happen.

Miracle Olawuyi, a graduate student in Exercise Science, is all about sharing vibrant experiences at UNO. Originally from Nigeria, she’s excited to highlight what makes the campus special.

“I love connecting with people and showcasing our diverse community,” Olawuyi said.

Lana Huetson, an Aviation major who’s passionate about flying and social media. Raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, she’s part of several aviation groups and loves sharing her journey online.

“I was thrilled to help UNO show off our amazing aviation program,” she shared.

Mackenzie Demuth, a Business Administration major, joined the program to gain social media experience and meet new people. Originally from Hastings, she loves being in Omaha and is excited to get creative with her posts.

“I can’t wait to help promote campus events and share fun content,” noted Demuth.

The ambassadors will create engaging content for social media, spotlighting campus events and sharing their unique experiences. This approach not only connects the university with students but also builds a sense of community.

According to the recent Rival IQ 2024 Higher Education Social Media Engagement Report, UNO has already seen a boost in its social media rankings, in part thanks to these new strategies. UNO ranked in at 187 this year, versus the university’s spot at 364 the previous year.

As this program kicks off, UNO is ready to keep growing its online presence and attracting future students. With these enthusiastic ambassadors leading the charge, the university is set to make a real impact in the digital space.
