UNO’s Tracie Reding, Ed.D., research director at the STEM TRAIL Center, spoke with WOWT about the university's pioneering INSIGHTS program. Funded by a $400,000 National Science Foundation grant, the program uses artificial intelligence to analyze instructor and student discussion posts, aiming to enhance critical thinking skills like analysis and evaluation.
Why it matters: The INSIGHTS program is the first AI-focused initiative of its kind at UNO and is part of the university's broader push to integrate artificial intelligence into education. This project aligns with the launch of UNO’s Bachelor’s in Artificial Intelligence program, the first of its kind in Nebraska.
The big picture: INSIGHTS represents a significant step forward in the application of AI in higher education, creating new opportunities for improving classroom learning and preparing students for a rapidly changing technological landscape.
