Nicki Allen, Internship Coordinator for Career Services at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for November 2024. Allen was praised for her passion for student success, her commitment to connecting students with internships, and her strong interpersonal skills.
One nominator said, "the work Nicki does is vital to the success of the Nebraska Career Scholarship. Her contributions to promoting National Intern Day and organizing the student intern panel at the Career Connect Symposium were truly exceptional. She took on these significant initiatives with passion and dedication, showcasing the critical role internships play in student success. Her efforts significantly elevate the student experience at UNO."
Allen's dedication to fostering meaningful internship opportunities and her enthusiasm for student development have left a lasting impression on the UNO community.
"Nicki has an impressive depth of knowledge in career services and student development. While guiding students through the process of finding internships, she demonstrates a thorough understanding of career development best practices. She possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, which are evident in her ability to engage students, faculty, staff, and community partners alike."
For being named as Employee of the Month, Allen received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by the Maverick Store (formerly the UNO Bookstore), a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
