UNO Names Mindy Woodward Employee of the Month, July 2024

Mindy Woodward, Office Assistant for the Special Education and Communication Disorders office within the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for July 2024. Woodward was praised for her welcoming spirit and her eagerness to help others.

One nominator said that "Mindy is the face of the Special Education and Communication Disorders office. She is warm and kind to each client and their family members. She not only greets the clients but also the faculty, staff and students at the UNO speech clinic. She makes the clients, and their family members feel at ease due to her patience and comfortable demeanor."

Woodward's kind demeanor extends beyond initially meeting visitors and clients; making sure that every individual feels welcomed and supported.

"Mindy welcomes clients from the public into the UNO Speech Clinic guiding them through their first time on campus with detailed directions and information regarding parking and building access. She is attentive no matter the age from those that are two to those in their 80s. Mindy is creative in working through situations to bring about a positive outcome. She helps them through their struggles to connect on Zoom and the clients love to see her. The clients and student clinicians know they will have a successful experience because she is a valuable resource they rely on for guidance and suggestions."

For being named as Employee of the Month, Woodward received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by the Maverick Store (formerly the UNO Bookstore), a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
