UNO Names Sihley Pawaskar Employee of the Month, June 2024

Sihley Pawaskar, Residence Life Coordinator for the University of Nebraska at Omaha's (UNO) University Village, has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for June 2024. Pawaskar was praised for her reliability and for fostering an inclusive atmosphere.

One nominator said that "Sihley regularly completes her job responsibilities at a high level. She is reliable, consistent, and very knowledgeable as a team member. Her position requires that she meets and supports students with empathy and warmth. Sihley does this better than most. She works hard to ensure that whatever space she is in is safe, affirming, and supportive."

Pawaskar goes above and beyond her normal job duties to support critical departmental processes and operations.

"She sought out the responsibility of leading our student staff recruitment and selection process during this spring semester. This is a process that involves coordinating marketing, outreach, and recruitment of the Resident Assistants who are at the foundation of how we accomplish our departmental mission each year. Sihley’s oversight and guidance of this process was highly successful, and she handled the responsibilities commendably while still ensuring that she continued to meet expectations in other areas of her position."

For being named as Employee of the Month, Pawaskar received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by the Maverick Store (formerly the UNO Bookstore), a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
