Women's Soccer Draws No. 1 Notre Dame in NCAA First Round

The Omaha women's soccer team will head to South Bend, Indiana to take on the Fighting Irish in the opening round of the 2022 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament; Nov. 12.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, the Omaha women's soccer team captured the Summit League title and an NCAA Tournament berth for the first time in program history.

FROM OMAVS.COM – The Omaha women's soccer team will head to South Bend, Indiana to take on the Fighting Irish in the opening round of the 2022 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. The teams will play Saturday, Nov. 12, at 1 P.M.

The Mavericks won their first ever Summit League Title last weekend vs. No. 4 Oral Roberts. The match ended in a draw, but Omaha prevailed 3-1 in penalty kicks. It marks the first NCAA Tournament berth for Omaha since the Division I Transition.

Notre Dame enters the national tournament as an overall No. 1 seed. The Fighting Irish have a 14-2-3 overall record with a 7-2-1 finish in the ACC. Notre Dame and Pitt tied in the ACC quarterfinals with the Irish advancing 5-4 on PKs. Their run came to an end in the semis vs. Florida State. The match resulted in a 3-3 draw, but FSU advanced 4-2 on PKs.

Omaha Women's Soccer Captures First Ever Summit League Title

Nov. 5, 2022

For the first time in program history, the Omaha women's soccer team captured the Summit League title and an NCAA Tournament berth. The Mavericks took on the No. 4 Oral Roberts Golden Eagles Saturday afternoon. The match ended tied 0-0 in regulation with Omaha coming out on top, 3-1, in penalty kicks. The Mavericks improved to 7-8-6 overall with the draw.
