Flag Lowering for George Royce
The UNO flag will be lowered on Monday, April 18, in memory of Royce, an instructor from the College of Information Science & Technology, who passed away on April 11.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Monday, April 18, in memory of UNO instructor George Royce.
George passed away on April 11, 2022. He started at UNO in June 2010 and was an instructor in the Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis department in the College of Information Science & Technology.
Prior to his time at UNO, George was Vice President of Enterprise Architecture and Security at Mutual of Omaha. He retired from Mutual of Omaha in 2013 after a 29-year career at the insurance provider.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Bernice; sister, Marie Royce; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lyne Royce; and brother-in-law, Ted Weidner. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Katie Royce; son, David Royce; grandson, Harrison Royce; Sisters, Ann Weidner and Ellen Royce; niece, Missy Smith; and nephew, Sean Smith.
George will be honored at a wake taking place on April 18, from 5 to 7 P.M., at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler.
A funeral in his honor will take place on Tuesday, April 19, at 10 A.M. at Christ the King Catholic Church.
