Before coming to UNO in 2009, Emily served as the study abroad advisor for the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She completed undergraduate degrees in International Business and International Studies, followed by a graduate degree in Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Columbia. As a student, she studied in Spain and Costa Rica, and as a graduate assistant, she helped faculty members develop and sustain short-term study abroad programs. She has traveled widely as part of her work, including leading global student programs, international site visits, and conferences. Emily has been a NAFSA: Association of International Educators leader in Region II, assuming the roles of conference planner and treasurer for the organization. Prior to assuming the duties of Interim Director, Emily served as UNO’s Manager of Education Abroad and Global Partnerships and coordinated exchange agreements with UNO's partner universities around the world. With nearly 15 years of experience in education abroad, Emily has advised innumerable students and faculty to help them reach their global goals, and co-created deep, lasting and meaningful partnerships.
