The Peace Corps provides individuals with an opportunity to work with different local leaders, within different locations, to make a difference in "the most pressing challenges of our generation." According to the Peace Corps website, their mission is to:
- Help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.
- To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.
- To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.
Connect with Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) at UNO
RPCVs (or Peace Corps alum) are all over, including at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). International Programs is home to several RPCVs, who are also available to answer questions about the process and experience for those interested.
