Robert Francis Cryne is a retired Career Prosecutor. Over four decades, he operated in the United States, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East: Army Judge Advocate in Cold War Europe; Deputy County Attorney and Assistant United States Attorney in Nebraska; and Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Special Operations Division in Washington, D.C.
During the Iraq War, Mr. Cryne served as an Attorney Adviser to the Iraqi High Tribunal for the Trial of Saddam Hussein and other leaders of the Iraqi Ba’ath Socialist Party for Genocide, War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity. He traveled widely in Iraq and the Persian Gulf. He was recognized for Distinguished Service by the Iraqi and Kuwaiti governments, and received the Director’s Award, U. S. Department of Justice, for Outstanding Service in the Global War on Terror.
Mr. Cryne’s last assignment with DOJ was with the Special Operations Division (SOD), a multi-agency organization of the Military, Federal Law Enforcement and the Intelligence Community where he coordinated multi-national investigations involving Trans-National Criminal, Narcotics Trafficking, and Terrorist Organizations in the Middle East, Europe and Latin America.
Mr. Cryne currently serves as the Special Project Coordinator for the UNO-DHHS partnership to promote and implement the Nebraska Violent Death Reporting System (NeVDRS) and Statewide Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS) to Nebraska Prosecutors and Law Enforcement in all ninety-three (93) Nebraska counties.
