STORIES FROM THE MOVCENTR
UNO Receives $11 Million NIH Grant to Combat Cardiovascular Diseases
Led by Dr. Alexey Kamenskiy, Chair of the Department of Biomechanics, the NIH grant marks the establishment of the Center for Cardiovascular Research in Biomechanics (CRiB). This is the second COBRE award for UNO and the Department of Biomechanics after the MOVCENTR. The successes of the MOVCENTR enabled the submission of this new award and its funding. CRiB is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at developing innovative materials and devices to address the pressing challenges posed by vascular diseases. Save The Date: 2024 Nonlinear Analysis Workshop
The 2024 Annual Nonlinear Analysis Workshop, which is operated under the auspices of the MOVCENTR's Nonlinear Analysis Core (NONAN), will be held from July 22nd - July 26th, 2024! This year's workshop will be hybrid with in-person and virtual options. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce research scientists, clinicians, educators, and students to a variety of nonlinear methods for the analysis of biological time series data. Registration is now open! Click Here For More Information!
Seminar Series
The Seminar Series, which is supported by our MOVCENTR and the Department of Biomechanics, promotes high-quality research presentations every Friday at 10:00 am during the academic year. The focus of the seminar series is to call for experts related to academia and research in the areas related to biomechanics, variability, motor disorders, physical therapy, and related studies. If you are interested in presenting, please contact Dr. Madhur Mangalam at mmangalam@unomaha.edu. There will be no Seminar Series on March 15th (Spring Break) or March 22nd (Research and Creative Activity Fair)!
Coming up, we are very excited to host:
- Dr. Mara Seier, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Mar. 8th
- Dr. Sumit Yadav, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Mar. 29th
