Interested Students
Those UNO students interested must be enrolled in a UNO course that includes the Maverick Philanthropy Initiative component, as well as go through an orientation facilitated by the UNO Service Learning Academy (SLA).
What to expect in orientation:
- What philanthropy is (including an overview of service learning)
- Why philanthropy is important
- How philanthropy affects communities
What to expect in the course:
- Expectations related to interacting with community partners
- Reflections of individual experiences involving philanthropy
- An overview of best practices in partnership development and identifying giving partners
