Support for Faculty

The Service Learning Academy provides support to faculty members through the planning and implementation of the Maverick Philanthropy Initiative in their course.

  • Grant funding of $1,000 for each course section
  • Support for service learning implementation
  • Facilitate community partner involvement and communication
  • Introduce students to student philanthropy model and service learning, and educate them on best practices when engaging in the Maverick Philanthropy Initiative (MPI) in an MPI Orientation
  • Plan and facilitate final project celebrations

The project timeline is developed based on your course and unique service learning project. It is never too early to start thinking about incorporating MPI into your course, please contact us at unosla@unomaha.edu to set up a meeting to further explore your course and project ideas.
