The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) College of Business Administration and Fiserv celebrated the opening of the new Maverick Headshot Studio during Welcome Week activities on August 26, recognizing a partnership dedicated to supporting student success, career readiness, and workforce development.
Located in Mammel Hall, the Headshot Studio provides students with access to professional-quality headshots that can be used for LinkedIn profiles, networking opportunities, internship applications, career fairs, graduate school applications, and future job searches. The studio is designed to help students build confidence and establish a strong professional presence as they prepare for careers after graduation.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured remarks from UNO Chancellor Joanne Li, College of Business Administration Dean Gurpreet Dhillon, and Joanne Sebby, Chief Risk Officer at Fiserv, highlighting the shared commitment of higher education and industry to developing the next generation of talent.
"Partnerships between universities and employers play a vital role in preparing students for successful careers," said Chancellor Joanne Li. "The Maverick Headshot Studio is an example of what is possible when organizations come together to invest in student success, workforce development, and the future of our community."
The studio reflects Fiserv's ongoing investment in career development opportunities and its longstanding partnership with UNO.
“Fiserv’s commitment to UNO is about more than a partnership—it’s about investing in students and the community we share,” said Sebby. “This studio will give students a practical resource to build confidence as they pursue opportunities beyond the classroom.”
Dean Gurpreet Dhillon noted that professional development is a critical component of the student experience and complements the academic preparation students receive throughout their time at UNO.
"Career readiness begins long before graduation," said Dhillon. "The Maverick Headshot Studio provides students with a valuable resource to help them build their professional brand and prepare for internships, networking opportunities, and future careers."
The Headshot Studio is the latest example of collaboration between UNO and Fiserv to create meaningful opportunities for students through career development, experiential learning, and engagement with industry leaders. Together, the organizations share a commitment to preparing students for success while strengthening Nebraska's workforce and talent pipeline.
