UNO Names Kolby Brock Employee of the Month

Kolby Brock, assistant director of involvement for the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for September 2026. He was praised for his dedication to student success, collaborative approach, and commitment to supporting student leaders.

One nominator said: "Since joining our team, Kolby has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student success through exceptional service, collaboration, and professionalism. As the project manager supporting Registered Student Organizations A through N and all Tier 1 student organizations, he has quickly established himself as a trusted resource for student leaders, advisors, and campus partners. His ability to build meaningful relationships while navigating complex organizational processes has strengthened our office's capacity to serve more than 200 registered student organizations."

Brock was also recognized for the professionalism, enthusiasm, and care he brings to his work.

"Kolby consistently approaches his work with integrity, enthusiasm, and a solutions-oriented mindset. He is dependable, approachable, and always willing to step in wherever support is needed. Whether assisting students with organizational development, collaborating with colleagues across campus, or improving internal processes, he demonstrates a level of professionalism and care that reflects the very best of UNO."

His impact is especially evident in the relationships he has built with student leaders.

"Among our Student Government leaders, Kolby has become affectionately known as 'Coach K,' a nickname that reflects the trust, respect, and encouragement he has earned from the students he serves. Students naturally gravitate toward him because they know he will challenge them to think critically, hold them accountable, and genuinely invest in their success. That level of respect is earned, and Kolby has earned it in a remarkably short period of time."

For being named Employee of the Month, Brock received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by The Maverick Store, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
