UNO Academic Advising Council Elects 2026-2028 Executive Officers

The Academic Advising Council (AAC) is pleased to announce the new 2026-2028 AAC Executive Officers. Elections were held in July, and the new officers started their two-year terms this August.

  • President: Kate Earnhardt, College of Public Affairs and Community Service (Division of Continuing Studies)

  • Vice President: Angie Centarri, College of Arts and Sciences (Department of Psychology)

  • Past President: Heather Ford, College of Public Affairs and Community Service (Grace Abbott School of Social Work)

  • Secretary: Lacey LeGrand, College of Arts and Sciences (Department of Biology)

  • Treasurer/Fundraising Committee Chair: Kaitlin Carlson (College of Business Administration)

  • Communication Specialist: Corbyn Ayer, College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (Teacher Education)

  • Professional Development Committee Chair: Emily Wiemers, College of Information Science and Technology (Graduate Advising)

  • Social and Recognition Committee Chair: Leanna Hyatt, College of Arts and Sciences (Chemistry, Math, and Physics Advising)

  • Student Success Committee: Hanna Wanzenried Solberg, College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (Teacher Education)


About the Academic Advising Council (AAC)

Monthly forums keep advisors up-to-date on topics ranging from best practices in advising to technology and program updates. The group, which formally launched in 2011, welcomes not just advisors to its meetings, but also many other professionals on campus who support UNO students. AAC Executive Officers are elected every two years to lead and support AAC meetings, programming and initiatives. The Academic Advising Council meets the third Thursday of each month at 1:30 P.M. Meetings are open to the public.
