Flag Lowering for Becky Means

The UNO flag lowered, blowing in the breeze while on a flag pole.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Sept. 16 in memory of Rebecca (Becky) Lou Chartier Means, who recently passed away. The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Becky's loved ones during this time.

About Becky

Becky started her career at UNO on July 31, 1976. She assumed the role of associate director in the Admissions, Records, and Registration Office (now the Office of the University Registrar) on Sept. 1, 1997 and retired on June 30, 2005. Becky was also a recipient of the Chancellor's Medal.

She is survived by her daughter Erica Lynn Means Bottger; her two granddaughters, Erin (Blake) Waggoner and Dana (Josh) Livingston; and her five great-grandchildren, John, Christopher, Eleanor, Brooks, and Caroline; and countless close friends.

A memorial service will be held at Dundee Presbyterian Church on Sept. 18, at 11 A.M.
