Catherine Link

Catherine Link, deputy Title IX coordinator and civil rights investigator for the Office of Civil Rights Compliance at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for May 2026. She was praised for her leadership in advancing Title IX education, strengthening civil rights compliance, and increasing campuswide awareness of reporting processes and resources.

One nominator said: "It is my pleasure to nominate Catherine Link for Employee of the Month in recognition of her exceptional performance, dedication, and meaningful impact on the campus community. She consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of her role and exemplifies excellence in every aspect of her work."

This impact is evident in many areas of the university.

Another nominator said: "Catherine’s impact across campus is significant and far-reaching. As the lead for Title IX trainings, she has helped ensure that nearly 650 students have received in-person Title IX education this academic year, increasing awareness, compliance, and support across the university. Additionally, Title IX staff—under Catherine’s leadership and involvement—have trained 34 employees in Civil Rights Compliance, strengthening institutional knowledge and responsiveness. This positive impact helps to ensure that the entire campus is aware of reporting, resources, and supportive measures available through the Title IX Office. Her dedication helps to make a positive difference in the campus community."

"In every role she assumes, Catherine demonstrates leadership, innovation, and unwavering dedication to the university’s mission. Her contributions have strengthened the Office of Civil Rights Compliance, enhanced campus education, and improved the experience of students and employees alike," said a nominator.

For being named Employee of the Month, Link received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by The Maverick Store, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
