Pat Kelley, director of Information Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) College of Information Science & Technology (IS&T), has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for February 2026. He was praised for his technical leadership, collaborative approach, and commitment to excellence in service.
A nominator said that "Pat communicates proactively, documents changes meticulously, and fosters strong collaborative relationships with faculty and student system administrators alike. As a college built on state of the art technology, many of our courses depend on a dynamic, real-world computing environment. Pat not only provides and maintains that environment, but also consistently accommodates last minute requests for software installations and configuration changes with patience and professionalism. Pats contributions far exceed his job requirements. He exemplifies technical mastery, leadership, and a genuine dedication to the mission of our college."
Another nominator said that "Pat’s detail-oriented and organized approach was evident during the Microsoft migration, which required a smooth transition of faculty, staff, and student accounts. Issues that arose were addressed promptly and consistently with care, clarity, and follow-through, even under high-pressure conditions. His enthusiasm and positive energy are evident in how he engages with his responsibilities and with others, and this approach has a clear and positive ripple effect across the team. Taken together, these contributions reflect an individual who embodies excellence, service, and innovation."
For being named Employee of the Month, Kelley received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by The Maverick Store, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
