Casey Wells Earns Board of Regents KUDOS Award

At their February meeting, the University of Nebraska (NU) System Board of Regents presented Casey Wells, Event Coordinator for the Office of Spirit, Tradition, and Signature Events at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), with a Kudos Award for her commitment to student success, community engagement, and the Maverick Spirit.
Drew Leisy, UNO Student Body President and Student Regent, said that “Casey Wells exemplifies excellence through her deep commitment to student success. She creates a welcoming and empowering environment where students from all backgrounds feel supported in both their academic and personal growth, while also preparing them for success beyond their time at UNO.”
Casey strengthens the university’s connection to the Omaha community through meaningful engagement.
Leisy said that “through her leadership with initiatives like the Durango Discounts program, Casey builds strong community partnerships that enhance UNO’s visibility and directly benefit students, reinforcing the university’s role as an engaged community partner.”
Above all, Casey embodies integrity and the Maverick Spirit.
“She leads with honesty, transparency, and fairness, consistently doing what is best for students and the university. Her strength, resilience, and innovative mindset reflect the true Maverick Spirit, as she continually finds new ways to enhance the student experience and support the UNO community,” Leisy added.
In presenting the Board of Regents KUDOS award to Wells, Leisy thanked Wells for her dedication to UNO.
