UNO Names Taricka Burton Employee of the Month, November 2025

Taricka Burton, Executive Director of the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for November 2025. She was praised for her leadership, positive attitude, and commitment to enhancing the student experience.

A nominator said, "Taricka is a wonderful leader who is consistent in supporting her staff and the students on campus. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her team feels supported, comfortable, and confident in their roles. Her leadership is rooted in humility and a genuine commitment to service – she never hesitates to step in and assist wherever needed.

Burton’s colleagues appreciate the supportive approach she brings to her work.

"Whether it’s providing guidance, filling in gaps, or taking on tasks outside of her formal responsibilities, Taricka leads by example. No task is ever beneath her, and that mindset fosters a strong, collaborative environment for everyone around her. Her dedication and hands‐on leadership make her not only a valued colleague but a role model."

For being named Employee of the Month, Burton received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by The Maverick Store, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
