Jaci Lindburg, Ph.D., Associate Vice Chancellor of Innovative and Learning-Centric Initiatives (ILCI) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), has been selected to join Leadership Nebraska Class XVII, a prestigious statewide leadership development program.

Lindburg serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovative and Learning-Centric Initiatives (ILCI) at UNO and as Associate Vice President for Learning Technologies and IT strategy for the University of Nebraska System’s Information Technology Services division. In this dual role, she drives innovation in teaching and learning, leading efforts to improve educational infrastructure, expand access to academic programs, and pilot emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

In addition to her leadership roles at the university, Lindburg also serves as a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands Board of Directors, Vice President of the Launch Leadership Board of Directors, a member of the Westside Community Schools Bond Oversight Committee, and recently completed a two year volunteer role as Grants Chair for the Women Investing in Nebraska philanthropic organization.

Lindburg is among approximately 30 individuals selected statewide for Leadership Nebraska Class XVII. She will join her peers in a series of monthly sessions across Nebraska, beginning this summer, culminating in a graduation and induction into the Leadership Nebraska alumni network.

“At UNO, we believe in developing leaders who drive positive change,” Lindburg said. “Being part of Leadership Nebraska will help me continue that mission by gaining new perspectives and forging partnerships that benefit our students and all Nebraskans.”

Leading Innovation in Higher Education

With nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, Lindburg has established herself as a leader in driving academic innovation. Colleagues praise her collaborative approach, noting that she combines thorough research with openness to others’ ideas to turn bold visions into reality.

From spearheading systemwide digital learning initiatives to supporting grassroots projects at the unit level, she has a track record of building teams and programs that enhance student success.

“Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about using innovation to improve education and strengthen our community and state,” Lindburg explained. “This program is an amazing opportunity to grow as a leader and to help me better serve Nebraska and our extraordinary university.”

About Leadership Nebraska

Leadership Nebraska, established in 2006 by the Nebraska Chamber Foundation, is a statewide program designed to develop and connect current and emerging leaders who are passionate about Nebraska’s future. Over a seven-month period, a cohort of professionals from across the state engages in immersive sessions on Nebraska’s key issues, including economic development, workforce, education, agriculture, health care, and government policy.

The program combines hands-on learning experiences with meaningful dialogue, giving participants a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Nebraska and the tools to lead with purpose. Upon completion, members of the class join an alumni network of more than 400 leaders committed to continued growth, collaboration, and service to Nebraska.

“I am incredibly honored to be part of Leadership Nebraska Class XVII,” Lindburg said. “As a sixth generation Nebraskan, I look forward to collaborating with leaders from across the state and bringing new ideas back to the university and the communities we serve.”
