UNO Names Carol Adam Employee of the Month

Carol Adam, an administrative office associate for the Department of Teacher Education, has been named UNO’s Employee of the Month for August 2022.

Adam was nominated for going above and beyond her job’s responsibilities in support of a colleague, but also take on additional responsibilities in support of student recruitment and the hiring of new faculty to the department.

“While our department has been shorthanded this past semester and a halfm Carol has taken on additional responsibilities and done so without complaint,” one nominator stated. “Her efforts have allowed our department to continue to run smoothly without any disruption.”

Adam was acknowledged for her attention to detail in support of the department’s faculty, including ensuring they have copies of their textbooks for the semester while also paying specific attention to the department’s adjunct faculty so they have the resources they need to be successful educators.

“She is reliable, dependable, and is a tremendous resource to our department,” a nominator noted. “She works with professional dispositions and ethical standards daily. She is accurate, detail-oriented, and always acts with discretion and confidentiality.”

Adam’s knowledge of processes and policies, as well, has been noted as being invaluable during the pandemic.

“Since being back on campus, she can always be counted on to pitch in and help with a variety of different tasks,” a nominator said. “She is a very valuable part of the Teacher Education Department, the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, and UNO.”

As another nominator stated: “You name it, she knows how to do it.”

For being awarded as Employee of the Month, Adam will receive a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by the UNO Bookstore, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
