Master of Social Work, University of Nebraska at Omaha
Bachelor of Social Work, University of Nebraska at Omaha
What do you love about UNO?There are many things I love about UNO and one of them is the hospitality of the professors and staff and their willingness to go the extra mile to assist students and co-workers regardless of the cultural differences. UNO is also a very welcoming community and is easier for international students and staff to feel comfortable or adjust being away from their own country. I absolutely do not regret the six years of my academic journey at UNO and am glad to be back as an employee. If time and age could permit, I wouldn’t mind starting all over again as an international student at UNO; one of the best time of my life
If you could go back to college, what would you do differently?I would not do anything different. I learned from my experience when I chose Public Administration as my major or area of interest when I first enrolled at the University of Liberia as a freshman knowing very well that I love reading courses, and I am not really a “number” person. Changing my major to social work when I transferred to the University of Nebraska at Omaha was an excellent decision, because I did not struggle academically like I did in the area of Public Administration and was the only person in my undergraduate class (2001-2005) to graduate with honor as cum laude and the first international student in the school of social work.
