Additional Information
APLD 3700 is flexible, student-led, and faculty-mentored. You’ll work closely with a Site/Project Coordinator (SPC) and your faculty mentor to shape an experience that works for your learning goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Set measurable learning objectives with your SPC
- Complete 50 hours of experiential learning per credit hour (1–3 credits available)
- Submit Reflection Journals and a Final Reflection Paper
- Log hours and receive a final evaluation from your SPC

- Learning Contract: You will create specific, measurable learning goals in collaboration with your SPC.
- Learner-Mentor Check-In: An early meeting with your faculty mentor ensures shared expectations.
- Reflection Journals: Capture your insights and progress throughout the experience.
- Final Reflection Paper: Synthesize your learning, connect theory to practice, and showcase your growth.
- Experiential Time Log: Track your hours for final verification.
Final Evaluation: Your SPC will assess your professional growth and contributions.
